Has specialized expertise in construction contracts, specifications and construction communications.

Has created award winning master specifications systems for numerous design firms and institutions based on the systems created by his firm.

In 1978 was one of the first individuals to take the examination for, and be certified by CSI, as a Construction Specifier (CCS).

As West Region CSI Education Chair, created the 1998 Construction Sciences Forum for the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, which received the 1999 CSI Education Commendation and is now an annual event for practitioners, educators and students in the West Region.

Specializes in Bidding and Contracting Requirements and Division 01 - General Requirements procedures and focuses primarily upon Educational and Governmental projects falling under the requirements of the California Public Contract Code.

Served two years as chairman of the Construction Specifications Institute’s Certification committee, writing and conducting the examinations for Construction Documents Technologists, Construction Specifiers, Contract Administrators and Product Representatives throughout the United States.

Served two years as Vice President - Professional of the Construction Specifications Institute.  Currently serving CSI by chairing the Governance Reform Implementation Task Team and as Chair of the Integrated Project Manager Body of Knowledge Analysis Task Team.

In 2002, joined the ranks of only 17 women to that date to be elevated to Fellowship in the Institute.
